Central Point of Coordination (CPC) is the term adopted by the State County Management Committee to define the "Single Point of Entry" required by Chapter 331 of the Iowa Code.

Central Point of Coordination (CPC) or Community Services:

Central Point of Coordination (CPC) is the term adopted by the State County Management Committee to define the "Single Point of Entry" required by Chapter 331 of the Iowa Code. CPC is an administrative function and is a component of the managed system required by Chapter 331 of the Iowa Code (also referred to as Senate File 69).


CPC Responsibilities:

Accept CPC applications from residents of Cedar County who are requesting county funding for services funded by a county mental health budget;

Determine what county in Iowa is responsible for funding services for the applicant (called legal settlement), or if the State of Iowa is responsible (called a state case);

Determine if the applicant is financially eligible for funding;

Authorize funding for services, according to the guidelines of the county mental health management plan;

Develop the annual county mental health budget;

Provide oversight of the county mental health management plan;

Negotiate rates and monitor contracts with service providers;

Collect data of individuals served and Cedar County dollars spent from the county mental health budget;

Submit required reports to the Iowa Department of Human Services;

Inform people of the services and supports available in Cedar County;

Manage the funding of the State Payment Program for individuals determined to be a state case and living in Cedar County.
